Welcome! I would like to begin by saying thank you for your interest in Loyola High School. As a product of Jesuit education I can say that it is an extraordinary experience. Jesuits have been recognized worldwide as tremendous educators for almost five centuries. Loyola High School has proudly been a part of that tradition for 147 years and is the oldest continuing secondary school in all of Southern California.
High school is a time for change. Some of us embrace that change and for some it seems intimidating. Loyola has an amazing ability to appreciate the individual gifts of each student and to challenge them to share those gifts with our school community and the world beyond.Our Students
Our greatest asset is our student body. What makes Loyola unique is how our students learn by experience, help form one another and make a difference by serving others. The Cubs are an extremely talented group of young men who exemplify character, faith, and hard work. They become great friends and have fun while embracing new challenges.
In admissions our goal is simply to provide you and your son information to help your family make the best decision for his future. To learn more about us, we encourage you to explore the rest of our website, and visit us at Open House on Sunday, December 11, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. In addition, during the months of October and November we present at a number of High School Information Nights hosted by elementary schools. The calendar linked to this Admissions page will have those dates after the schools invite Loyola to present.

How to Apply
Because Loyola's standards are high, we take great care in the selection of our new students. We seek young men from families who share the philosophy of our school.
We look for applicants who are motivated to do the hard work necessary for successful college preparation, who are open to new experiences, and who will participate in the life at Loyola High School with enthusiasm. We want young men who are willing to apply their minds, bodies and spirits to the achievement of intellectual, social and religious growth.
The online application process for the 2011-2012 school year will be available in early October 2010.
Deadline: January 6, 2012.
Fee: $75.00
Applications that are received after the deadline will be assessed a $35.00 late fee.
After you apply, log in to your personal online Admissions account to complete the remaining online forms, request the appropriate recommendations and report grades. You can also use this online Admissions account to verify that all forms have been received in the Admissions Office.
There is a second application deadline for forms that are sent or completed by your son's school. Those recommendations and transcripts are due by February 3, 2012.
If you are interested in applying as a Transfer Applicant into the 10th or 11th grade, application forms will be available to download in early February. Completed forms are due May 6, 2011.
HSPT Testing
When you apply online, you are automatically registered for the HSPT Exam at Loyola High School on either Saturday January 21, 2012 or January 28, 2012. You may take the test on either day. Reservations are NOT required.
