Donation Ideas

We ask for unique items to make the live and silent auctions interesting and successful.  Be creative. Sometimes it's not what you have, but who you know! If you don't feel you have anything unusual to offer, perhaps you know someone who does. Here are some types of gifts --not in any particular order--that tend to attract the most bids:

  • Concert or Theatre tickets (i.e. Pop/Rock, Coachella, Hollywood Bowl, Symphony, Broadway, Dance)
  • Autographed Music and Sports Memorabilia
  • Music Electronics (i.e. iPod, high-end Headphones, Bose sound system, etc.)
  • Tickets to popular TV shows (i.e. ‘American Idol’, ‘The Voice’, ‘X Factor’, etc.)
  • Awards show passes (Grammys, Emmys, MTV Music Awards)
  • Wine (special collections)
  • Restaurant gift cards
  • Professional Chef-hosted intimate dinners
  • Cooking Classes or Wine Tasting vouchers
  • Passes to Movie Premieres
  • TV or Movie Set visits or walk-on/extra roles (‘Modern Family’, ‘Real Housewives’, etc.)
  • Travel vacations and cruises
  • Airline Vouchers, Gift Cards or Frequent Flyer miles
  • Hotel Vouchers or Gift Cards
  • Day trips or unique excursions (e.g. scuba diving, sailing, water skiing, skydiving, hot air ballooning, race car driving school, paddleboarding/surfing)
  • Use of vacation homes
  • Sporting event tickets
  • Golf outings
  • Spa Experiences
  • Limo Services
  • Professional services (e.g. catering, cosmetic, massage, personal training, car detailing, DJ)
  • High-end electronics (e.g. watch, HDTV, iPad, Xbox, computers, iPhone, Blu-ray)
  • High-end appliances (e.g. espresso machine, stand mixers, barbecue grills)
  • Fine jewelry & fine art
  • Crystal, Fine China
  • Unique Collectibles
  • Student Internships or Career “shadow days”
  • Loyola-themed Items (e.g. painted ceramics, art, quilt, cooler -- may need staff approval)
  • Give it some thought: We receive our best items through interesting personal connections.  Do you know someone who owns a cheese shop, knows a celebrity, a big-name athlete or a politician, loves to entertain or sing, has a special skill (bakers: how about donating a homemade pie delivered monthly for a year?), collects unusual things they would be willing to share, owns a lovely out-of-town home?
