Getting Started – What do I need to know before I buy my books?
First, Welcome to Loyola. My name is Jerry Frumento and my email address is jfrumento@loyolahs.edu. Please feel free to contact me with any and all of you book buying needs.
Loyola has a Campus Bookstore located at the east end of Malloy Commons, next to The Cub Corner, Loyola’s Student Store. The Campus Bookstore does not sell the majority of books you will be purchasing for this year, but it is the central organizational hub that makes all your book buying possible. Loyola has partnered with www.myschoolbookstore.com to make simple, efficient and economical your book buying needs. Our goal at Loyola is to give you a sure, efficient way of purchasing your books so you are equipped and ready your first day of school with the books you need to succeed. Myschoolbookstore.com is fully inventoried with the text you need for your Loyola Courses, and once you go through the fast and easy book ordering procedures, you will receive your books promptly and without delay.
Helpful Tips before you buy your books online:
- Loyola’s Official booklist will post on Loyola’s website www.loyolahs.edu on Thursday July 7th, 2011.
- Check with current students you know to see if they have books you need.
- July 23rd is the annual used book sale at the Malloy Commons between the hours of 8am -12 noon. Here, Loyola students and parents sell and buy used books to eachother. If you like the thrift, yard selling atmosphere, you can join the mayhem and hope to get a bargain or make some quick cash. This is not a Loyola Bookstore sponsored event, but because of its popularity, Loyola provides a time and a space for this to happen. Please make sure you know what you need and check ISBN’s for accuracy so you don’t end up buying out dated books.
- July 22nd is the first day you can go online to www.myschoolbookstore.com to order your books. If you order the first week that our online bookstore opens, (July 22-28, 2011) SHIPPING IS FREE!
- www.myschoolbookstore.com offers varied classification of books to purchase.
- Loyola, in conjunction with myschoolbookstore.com has a book buy back at the end of each school year and the student receives via email a credited to your myschoolbookstore.com account for purchases the following year. Of course, seniors receive a check back during the summer instead of a credit.
- Try to order all your books at once to avoid minimum and multiple shipping charges, unless of course you buy your books during that first week when shipping is FREE.
- Be forwarned that there are websites out there that have some great bargain that may not be reliable and may not get to you your books by the dates they promise. I have seen students three and four weeks into a semester, still waiting for their books to arrive.
- Be absolutely assured that your most efficient and reliable resource for books for Loyola High School courses is myschoolbookstore.com
- When ordering from myschoolbookstore.com, never go for expensive quick shipping... they are local and the cheapest shipping usually gets here in a day or two at the most.
Now, you are ready to buy your books. Go to www.myschoolbookstore.com , register and see how very simple it is to purchase your textbooks. Follow the instruction below and don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Jerry Frumento
