We are changing our Student Information System (SIS) software over the summer.  I would like you to be aware of some key summer dates we will use to share information about the new system with you and your son.

RETURNING STUDENTS
During the week of July 1 returning students may view their class schedules in the old system (Q).  No other functions of the old system will be available for use.  Access to returning student class schedules is provided at this time as a convenience during the transition.

Requests for class schedule changes must be made by completing the online Course Change Request Form available on the Loyola website under “Academic” and “Registration.”  Do not email a counselor or school administrator to request a change.  The Course Change Request Form may be submitted beginning July 10.   Note:  Students will only be able to view a schedule change in the new SIS, PowerSchool, after August 1.

NEW STUDENTS
During the week of July 1 new students to Loyola HS (transfer students and incoming freshmen) will have their class schedules mailed (US Postal Service) to them.  No access to the new SIS will be shared at this time.  Students may use this class schedule to begin the process of buying books.

ALL STUDENTS
During the week of July 15 an all-school mailing (US Postal Service) will go out containing information about the beginning of school, August orientation days, dress and grooming codes, updated attendance procedures, and other important reminders from school administrators.

ALL STUDENTS
During the first week of August we will mail (US Postal Service) new login information for the new SIS to ALL families (new and returning).  In this mailing you will receive an introduction to the new software, PowerSchool, and will then be able to access student schedules and student profile information.

During this transition you may receive other mailings or emails from school administrators sharing new information or requesting additional information from you.  I apologize in advance for these multiple contacts, but this summer I feel information about the new SIS is best shared in small bits.

We appreciate your patience, cooperation and understanding during this transition to our new SIS.  You may email me directly with any questions or concerns.  During the summer I will maintain a “Principal’s Blog” on the Loyola website to give you a reference point of activities, school mailings, and deadlines during the summer months.  The Loyola Google calendar continues to be a good source of information.

I hope you continue to enjoy a restful summer with your family.
