National Signing Day, February 1, 2017 

Loyola Football and Soccer participated in National Signing Day.  Shown here are Head Varsity Football Coach, Marvin Sanders and Head Varsity Soccer Coach Chris Walter.  The six Football players and three Soccer players signed with the following schools:

Winston Anawalt - UCLA, Sinjin Astani - San Jose State, Connor Beadles - UCLA, Austin Chandler - Syracuse University, Cade Moffatt - Claremont Colleges - Harvey Mudd, Scripps, Ryan Parks - UCLA
Antonio Borrelli - Boston College, Luciano Gazcon - Columbia University, Dominic Valdivia - Creighton University

Important LHS Sports Broadcast News And Information

Loyola's John Malloy Broadcast Club has partnered with the NFHS Network to stream selected home athletic events. With this partnership, we will have more opportunities for streaming a greater amount of games. This year, we will cover football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, lacrosse, and are test streaming water polo home games.   

In order for you to watch the streamed games, you have to become a member of the NFHS Network. It’s free to join for our Loyola community (props to the Athletic Dept. for providing funds for this service). The process is straightforward, but requires multiple clicks and forms to submit.

For this week, if you can’t make it to the following games, we are streaming:
•    Varsity Water Polo vs. Alemany on Thursday @3pm
•    Varsity Football vs. Alemany @7pm.

Loyola has third most players from Southern California high schools playing collegiate football 

MaxPreps researched the number of players from Southern California high schools who are playing collegiate football, and announced on October 20 that the Cubs had the third most.  Mater Dei topped the list, followed by Long Beach Poly.  St. John Bosco and Corona Centennial were in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Varsity football stuns Bishop Amat 24-23

Trailing by 9 points with under 2 minutes to go, Loyola's varsity football team drove down the field and scored a touchdown with approximately 20 seconds left.  Loyola recovered the ensuing on-side kick on the Bishop Amat 37 yard line.  After 3 plays, Loyola kicked a 50 yard field goal at the buzzer to give them a 24-23 win over the Lancers.  The winning field goal can be seen by clicking here.
