Choosing Different Pathways Towards Service and Justice
Juniors are now ready to embark on a discipleship journey, to meet those at the margins and listen to their stories. This year juniors are required to do direct service outside of Loyola. This service may take them to various locations such as non-profits serving the unhoused, soup kitchens, under-resourced schools in South L.A. Central L.A. or East L.A. The need to accompany our brothers and sisters in their struggle is what our Jesuit mission is all about.
The junior service requirement is 40 hours at an approved partnering Service & Justice site or an immersion experience, one in the fall semester or one in the spring semester.
Immersion information will be available on the student’s Community Service 11 Canvas page.
Juniors must complete their service requirement by June 2026.

Junior may consider the following:
- Participate in a Service Immersion (Abroad or domestic)
a) Immersions are posted on Canvas, we advise Juniors to Canvas at least once a week. - Make a commitment to serve at an Non-Profit Organization for a year
a) This has to be a Loyola/CSJ approved site so please stop by CSJ to pick up a registration form for your site.
Setting Up an Account on MobileServe
All programs and projects related to your service and justice experience at Loyola High School must be recorded and submitted on MobileServe. Instructions regarding account registration will be posted in the Community Service 11 Canvas page. All Junior service hours must be logged using MobileServe.
Immersions Available to Juniors
At the start of each new academic year, we are reminded of our focus on our Loyola mission; To inspire students to become men of faith, scholarship, service and leadership. In the document linked below, you will find a description of the different immersion trips offered for upperclassmen through the Center for Service and Justice. All registration information will be posted on the Community Service 11 Canvas page. All immersions require a participation fee.
