Freshman Applicants

Applications for freshman year (2026-27) will be available on October 22, 2025. Please attend the webinar on October 15, 2025, for a step-by-step explanation on the application process.

How do I apply for 9th grade admission to Loyola?

On October 22, 2025, the online application for our freshman class will be available on the Loyola website. Here is a short overview of what is required in the application. You are encouraged to attend the webinar on October 15 where Frank Kozakowski will go over in detail the various elements of the application.

Step 1: Should be completed by December 15, 2025.
All of these tasks are done by the family.

  1. Create and complete a FinalSite Account. (Available after October 22).
  2. Pay application fee.
  3. Upload a picture of your son.
  4. Upload a copy of the 6th grade unofficial transcript or report card showing the grades for the full year.
  5. Upload a copy of the 7th grade unofficial transcript or report card showing the grades for the full year.
  6. Upload a copy (may be separate documents; multiple uploads allowed) showing any standardized testing that was done in 6th and 7th grade. (This will be explained in detail in the webinar)
  7. Select a date for HSPT testing. Indicate Loyola High School, Los Angeles as a school to receive your scores.

Step 2: MUST be completed by January 15, 2026
All these tasks are done by the family.

  1. Parent Personal Statement
  2. Activity and Interest Form (completed by student)
  3. Student written essay (completed by student)
  4. Three (3) student produced videos
  5. Family (ideally student) should send requests for letters of recommendation to their teachers. Three required from school personnel (Principal or other administrator, 8th grade English teacher, 8th grade Math teacher).  
  6. Up to three optional supplemental recommendations. Optional recommendations should be written by individuals who can speak to the student’s strengths in school or his community.

Step 3: MUST be completed by February 6, 2026

  1. Upload a copy of the first semester grades earned in 8th grade. First semester or major grading period only. Do NOT upload mid-semester or first quarter grades. (completed by family).
  2. Deadline for ALL letters of recommendation to be received by Loyola High School.  (completed and submitted by principal and teachers). Parents should check the portal to ensure recommendations have been submitted.

10th or 11th Grade

Loyola High School accepts a small number of transfer students in grades 10 and 11 each year. Learn about the transfer application process.

10th or 11th Grade

Transfer applications for the 2025-26 school year are now closed.

Requirements for Transfer Students

In order to apply for 10th and 11th grade status, the applicant must have completed a curriculum similar to the curriculum at Loyola and achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in academic subjects with no grade lower than “C.”

Application for Transfer Admission Form

If you are interested in applying as a Transfer Applicant into the 10th or 11th grade, application forms will be available online on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Completed forms are due April 3, 2025.

Transfer Student Application Fee

A non-refundable application fee of $75 must be submitted with the application form.

Response Letters

Notification emails regarding admissions decisions will be sent no later than May 2, 2025. Enrollment forms and deposit fees are due within a week of receiving a notice of acceptance.
