A Message from President Jamal K. Adams '90
Dear Loyola Community,
It is with profound gratitude and great enthusiasm that I step into the role of President of Loyola High School of Los Angeles. I am humbled and honored to continue the legacy paved by the members of the Society of Jesus who have shaped the Loyola that we all know and love.
Loyola High School has always been more than just an educational institution. It is a home where, guided by the example of the life and teachings of St. Ignatius, young men are shaped and formed in and through God’s unconditional love—a place where students discover their inner genius, and where compassionate leaders of conscience and character flourish.
I am deeply aware of the extraordinary responsibility that lies before me as Loyola’s first lay president.
I offer my sincere and heartfelt thanks to the Board of Directors, Fr. Gregory M. Goethals, SJ ’73, and my dedicated colleagues, who have been great companions during this transition, offering care and vision. Because of their extraordinary leadership and planning, we remain a community built on a rock-solid foundation rooted in faith and intellectual excellence.
Loyola captured my heart in the fall of 1985 when I first stepped onto campus as a student, and it has not let it go since.
As we look ahead, please know I value your ideas, questions, and dreams for what our beloved institution can become.
What a privilege it is to be your partner in this crucial work. I look forward to writing this next chapter alongside all of you.
AMDG,
Jamal K. Adams ’90
President
