Former Loyola Teacher John “J.T.” Tanner, SJ Ordained as a Jesuit Priest

John “J.T.” Tanner, SJ, was ordained at Our Lady of Mt Carmel in San Ysidro, CA on June 2, 2018. The Mass was presided over by San Diego Bishop Robert W. McElroy and concelebrated by Jesuit West Provincial Fr. Scott Santarosa, SJ. At Loyola from 2012-2014, Fr. Tanner was a Jesuit regent where he taught Freshman scripture and Catholicism to upper classmen as well as working with Campus Ministry and coaching track and field. Fr. Tanner is currently finishing his theological studies at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley which is part of Santa Clara University. He will be there till December 2019 and will then begin working as a Pastoral Associate at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hollywood. Please keep Fr.
