Loyola Blessed as John T. O’Brien ’84 Is Ordained to the Priesthood

On Saturday, June 2 , John T. O’Brien ’84 was ordained by Archbishop José Gomez at Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral in Los Angeles. Fr. O’Brien and his family have been an integral part of Loyola for generations. The O’Brien men that have attended and are attending Loyola are his: grandfathers Dutton F. O’Brien ’17 † and John A. Gocke’23 †; uncle Michael O’ Brien ’47; father Terence O’Brien ’50 †; brothers Michael G. O’Brien ’83 and Patrick N. O’Brien ’87; and nephews Robert A. O’Brien ’15 and William G. O’Brien ’19. Fr. O’Brien’s first parish assignment will be at the Church of the Incarnation in Glendale. Loyola High School is thankful for this blessing to our community. We ask that you keep Fr. O’Brien in your prayers as he continues his journey as a Man for and with Others. Please click here for the Angelus’ story on the Archdiocese’s nine newly ordained priests, which includes Fr. O’Brien.
