Loyola Mourns the Passing of Former Principal Fr. William Kiley Stolz, SJ

Fr. William Kiley Stolz, SJ, who served as Loyola’s principal from 1970-72, passed away on July 21 at the Sacred Heart Jesuit Center, Los Gatos. He was 85.

A member of the Society of Jesus for 67 years and a priest for 55 years, Fr. Stolz was a teacher and an administrator in Jesuit high schools in Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Jose as well as the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Fr. Kiley was well known for his dedication to the education of underserved student populations in both urban centers and on the Indian reservation. He is survived by his sister-in-law Margaret Stoltz of Exeter, California. The entire Loyola community’s thoughts and prayers go out to Margaret Stolz.
