Not new to Loyola but joining the Office for Mission in a new position is Fr. Stephen Barber, SJ, who continues to serve the Loyola community as Pastoral Minister. “I arrived at Loyola High at the invitation of Fr. Goethals and Mr. Kozakowski. I have long known the superb learning community which Loyola sustains here at 1901 and beyond into the larger Los Angeles community. God’s Spirit and the mark of Saint Ignatius permeate each and every day here. I remain grateful to labor here with my Jesuit brothers and colleagues as well. ‘Lord, teach me to be generous…’”

After parish ministry in the state of Hawaii, Fr. Mike Scully, SJ brings his “Aloha spirit” to Loyola in his role as Pastoral Minister. “I am not completely new to Loyola High School; I taught here from 2002 until 2004. Prior to that time, I taught at Jesuit High School in Sacramento and, following Sacramento, I spent a number of years at Bellarmine in San Jose. When I left Loyola, I did parish work in Hawaii. I am happy to be back at Loyola because it is such a good school primarily because of the faculty, staff, administration and students. I hope to be able to contribute in any way I can to the School.”
