Summer: Beginning Guitar

This course is designed for students who are interested in learning the basics of playing the guitar.  No prior experience of playing guitar is necessary.  Students will be expected to practice individually approximately 30 minutes/day, 4 to 6 days/week. Subjects covered include instrumental technique, basic note and rhythmic music reading, chords, and basic guitar maintenance.  The student is expected to bring an acoustic guitar to class. The class will culminate in a final performance showcasing musical pieces learned during the course. Students are welcome to perform in the concert at the end of the summer session.
