Summer: Visual Thinking Through Art Appreciation: World Cultures

Each week, students will look at a few works of art or architecture from a different culture: Western, Africa, India, Islamic, and Indigenous America & the Pacific. Not only will students learn to look, analyze, and contextualize these periods but will also practice art making in its style. This will afford the student perspective on our current visual landscape while enabling the understanding of its function and reception. Visual literacy!
